The Navassa issue appears to be  getting broad support - note the following 
club message for NIDXA (Northern Illinois)

At the Friday club meeting we are going to discuss the KP1-5  Project. 

As we know there is considerable activity in getting congress to pass  
legislation to force the US Fish and Wildlife Service to open up Navassa 
(KP1)  and 
Desecheo (KP5) for activity such as amateur radio, subject of course to  
reasonable environmental concerns.  It would not seem that this should  
literally 
require an act of congress but apparently it does. Full info is  available at

individuals are supporting this effort, both through cash donations to the  
project and by writing letters to their congressman.  I would suggest that  
NIDXA 
and its members do likewise.
