    Minutes of the September 4, 2002 meeting.


The meeting was called to order at 7:33 PM by President Bill Marx,W2CQ.

Since the minutes of the previous meeting had been recently disseminated 
by email, a MOTION to dispense with reading them was made by Pete, N8PR, 
SECONDED by Steve, W4DTA and PASSED by acclamation.

Pete, N8PR informed the Club and visitors that a donation of a TS-830, 
complete with remote VFO, mic, and operation and service manuals had 
been made by Gil, W1RG.  The radios have been delivered, and should see 
some use by a high school club station in Jamaica.

Repeater
Pete N8PR advised the Club that the repeater has had new finals 
installed, and that further evaluation is necessary.  Chris will donate 
his time to check out the receiver.  The receiver is intermittent.  It's 
a work in progress.

Web Page
Bruce, W4OV advises that there is a new link available to the Daily DX 
list of DX clubs.  Look in www.qsl.net/k4fk for the SFDXA web page.

Reflector
Bill, W2CQ advises that there are currently 53 subscribers to the SFXDXA 
email reflector.

New Member
Mark, WA4YMX introduced Neil, KC4VU as an applicant for membership to 
SFDXA.  Neil has been licensed for 40 years, and is a member of BARC.  
After balloting, Neil was ELECTED to full membership in SFDXA.

Nominating Committee
Bill, W2CQ, After soliciting 'volunteers', invited Joe, W4SAA and Gil, 
W1RG to be the Nominating Committee for the Election of Officers of 
SFDXA for 2003.  We accept..

Presentation
John McHugh KU4GY and Julio Ripol WD4JR working together gave an 
exciting presentation about their efforts in conjunction with the 
National Hurricane Center in Miami. They described how the Hams are 
utilized in this country as well as throughout the Caribbean.  This was 
the same Presentation they gave in Dayton this year.

This was probably the finest presentation we've had to date.  

Finally there were 4 door prizes awarded.
