Here's an old trick that works wonders on rubberized keypads where the
carbon has worn off. Buy a little bottle of automotive rear window defroster
repair liquid. It usually comes in a tiny bottle with a small brush built
into the lid. It's meant for fixing small breaks in the wires embedded in
rear windows of cars, hence it's conductive. Put a small layer as thin as
possible on each contact point of the rubber membrane of the keypad and let
it dry for a few hours. It works perfectly - I still have a satellite TV
remote I fixed that way probably 6 or 7 years ago. And, it can be reapplied
as needed!
