Your best bet is to buy a package with the Butel ARC programming software. I 
have used it on my three Uniden digital trunk tracker scanners. They are 
pretty user friendly and easy to use. If you want the bells and whistles get 
the pro version. It allows you to log information. It will give you 
frequency, pl and dpl tones, also talk group information. I take mine when I 
travel up north to my moms, west to my brothers and down south when I go to 
training school. I have programming saved for where I amd going and I just 
download it before I leave. Them reprogram when I get back home. Good Luck.
