[ScanIndiana] Fort Wayne / Allen County Backup System

Turns out it was the old Allen County analog 800 system they went to.

It's now called the Allen County Govt. Services TRS. It has a number of talk
groups assigned to be back-ups to the Allen County/Fort Wayne Public Safety
TRS.

During normal times, the Govt. analog system (the former 800 Mhz Sheriff
system) is used by a few Govt agencies, like the Zoo, Parks Dept, Housing
Admin., etc.

What confused me is that I don't believe the Fort Wayne PD was ever on the
old county analog system. I think the city went straight from VHF to the
current digital system. So to the city, the "old" frequencies would be VHF,
not 800.

Would sure like to know why the communications technicians took the digital
public safety system down for a couple hours during the afternoon rush hour.

Didn't Ft. Wayne keep their old 800 MHz trunked system to use as a backup in
case the new one failed? I seem to recall that the old system was being
used by city municipal (non public safety) agencies, but the old system
could be used by public safety as needed for backup.
