Hi, my name is John Moran and I live in NE Fort Wayne, (Lake Forest addn.)

I quit monitoring a few years ago with a push from Mother Nature (storm took down mast and HF dipoles etc). Also the 
changeover by city/county radio systems. So I sold all of my recvrs, equip etc.

But I'm retired now and want to startover in a moderate ($) fashion. I would really appreciate any suggestions/experiences
you might have as to recvr. etc. 

I like to monitor city/cty/state pd./ aviation / railroads /  military or just snoop :o) ! That's not a big menu......is it?

I live about a 1/2 mile from the tower at the cnr. of Lake and Maysville roads and about 5 miles from the NS East Wayne
freight yard.

Neighbors tolerate a mast as long as it's not extreme.

One last favor/request. What are the upside down "thimbles" on FWPD rear fenders called? I assume they are antennas.
