Welcome Aboard!
First, we need to know what model scanner you have. Bearcat makes many
models.
Second, we need to know just what or who you intend to monitor. Most states
are going to systems that not only require a scanner capable of trunking but
also digital receiving.

Most 'older' scanners will not follow trunked and definitely not digital
networks. Trunking can be illustrated by viewing:

Ok so I am new to this and from what I have read the only female in
here....sorry fellas but I have an intrest... :)
So my question....what exactly is trunking? I have just gotten my first
scanner from my mother who recently passed away and it is a bearcat. I am
not sure if that matters or not but I keep seeing the whole "trunking" and I
just do not understand. Will my scanner still work when this goes into
effect?
Thank you for you time,
Heather
