My suspicion is that MECA will switch to digital as part of the 800 MHz
rebanding.  That way Nextel would have to pay for it.  If I understand
correctly, public safety systems will be required to move their 866-869
MHz frequencies down exactly 15 MHz.  Systems currently operating in
851-854 MHz are already in the process of moving to 854-866 MHz.  FCC
has scheduled public safety rebanding in Indiana for April through
September 2006.
