This was told on the air on the repeater the I listen to and use all the time in Indianapolis 146.700,IPD and other Law Enforcement agencies have allways had it in for Ham Radio Operators after a Ham Radio Operator heard two officers with a agency here localy using a ham simplex channel as a car to car channel,The operator asked them to identify themselves and he was told to shut up he did not have any legal means to prevent them from having a conversation, after that the Ham reported this to the Fcc and since then the agencies are still using"Illegal two way radios " that have been programed for frequencies that they are not "leagly Licensed For" If the officers had not been caught using 2 meter simplex in the Indianapolis area nothing would of been done, but the Ham repoted this to MECA Communications and the FCC, Riley Holingsworth,This never made it in the paper beacuse it was "Swep under the rug" and keep quiet but the agencies know that it happened beacuse it was reported and DOCUMENTED,After this happend to us in the Indianapolis Metero area I STRONGLY RECOMEND CARRYING A COPY OF IC 35-44-3-12 and this is "Not a Dumb Scanner Law" If you can't do the time, don't do the crime"This is my point" Thsi law is on the books folks, look it up!!!!.A scanner at home is not a problem but if it is in a moving vechicle and you do not have proper documentation, your scanner will be taken and put in the property room and you will be taken to jail, Ask any Police Officer on the street, they will tell you what will happen to you if you break the law-------------------------------------------------
