Yeah, I suppose it's just like anything else.  You're comfortable with what
you're used to.  This is my 4th Uniden Trunk Tracker, starting with a 235
and 895.  So, I'm kind of used to the user interface and protocols.
Although, I will admit, this unit, having more features and options, has a
little bit more of a learning curve.  I was thinking seriously of getting a
PRO-96, but the ability to computer control the scanner kind of swayed my
judgment.  That, and the "fear of the unknown", never having used a GRE
scanner before.

No, not trying to start a fight, just don't understand
this "plan" thing...Every time I see an explanation of
how to do something on a Uniden, all I can think of is
how much more complicated it is to program...but I
suppose you can put up with it if it's as good as it's
supposed to be...I'm actually thinking of getting a
296D to join my PRO-96...just to have the extra
features, even if I don't use them much...
