[ScanIndiana] RF interference in Michigan City

Is 5:10 am Sunrise ?
Many AM stations change their transmission/antenna propagation patterns at
sunrise and sunset.
Usually this takes only a second.

WOWO used to play a "goodbye moon hello sun" jingle followed by a second of
static to mark the change, on other stations (WIBC) you loose a word, right
in the middle of a sentence.

But if this particular station actually uses a different transmitter,
perhaps it is not fully 'warmed-up' and not at full power for 10 minutes.

Or the new propagation pattern may not be as good for you at your location.
Or perhaps the atmosphere takes 30-60+ minutes to change from daytime to
nighttime conditions, and the transmitter changes in a second.

I am not a radio engineer, so this is a stretch for me, but I think it is
accurate.

Thanks, Dan
