Hi Ryan,
Well.. the first thing that comes to mind for me is Coast Guard since you are
very near the lake. I've dealt with Naval and Coast Guard interference before
in my profession. They use lots of radios on a lot of different frequencies.
The second thing I think of is industrial interference. I know there are a few
industrial operations there, and I'm trying to remember what is close to you
as it may be something they are using and starting up first thing in the morning.
Have you asked your neighbors if they are experiencing it? You might even
call the station you are listening to and ask for the station manager and have
a chat about it. You can usually peak their interests if they know you are
listening to them and can't hear them. You'll probably get a call back from
their engineer.
I'll be up there tomorrow on biz, but not at 05:10. I'll keep my eye out as I
leave MC since I usually take 421 back to Indpls for the scenic route.
Regards,

Subject: [ScanIndiana] RF interference in Michigan City
A liitle of topic, but does anybody know what might be causing the
interference with my AM radio. It happens every morning at about 05:10, it
last 10 sec. and stops then starts again, like something is starting up.
Happens at home, car doesn't matter. The whole thing last about a minute.
I live on the far south side of Michigan City, about a half mile south of
I-94. Thanks
