Good question. I think Brownsburg would be a logical choice since it's
sort of in between all the existing sites. I'm not sure that tower has
been built yet, though. I've seen no proof that it's on the air.

Here's a theory on which sites Danville might use... The C9
(Mooresville) site is constantly announcing cells C31 (Crawfordsville?)
and C19 (Franklin) as neighbors... (Astro networking works like cell
phone roaming.) Any radios using the system in Hendricks County should
be voting between the C31, C19, and C9 SAFE-T sites as needed. The
radio should automatically select the "neighbor" cell with the strongest
data channel. All traffic on a particular talkgroup would be simulcast
between all the sites that have radios "affiliated" with the talkgroup.
So, whenever the Hendricks Co site comes online I would expect
Mooresville to begin announcing it as a neighbor cell so the local
radios could take advantage of it.

There are, at least, 284 state-wide frequencies in the entire SAFE-T
system. Someone patient enough could scan the entire 800 public safety
band looking for data channels that identify as System 7829. If someone
finds anything then it would be appreciated if they could post the data
and voice frequencies along with the cell ID to this list. Figuring out
where each SAFE-T cell is located is a whole other matter.

Some current Indiana SAFE-T sites:
  868.8626 - Cell 09, Mooresville. Claims C19 and C31 as neighbors.
  868.9750 - Cell 19, Franklin.
  868.9875 - Cell 31, Crawfordsville???

The full statewide system appears to be progressing with the conversion
of existing State Police 800 systems to SAFE-T sites. Right now the
Toll Road is switching over to SAFE-T (I presume that means the
North-most ISP districts already have?). I would think Putnamville and
Indy might switch fairly soon. For existing ISP sites it's probably as
simple as having the phone company run a trunk line and Motorola install
a new system controller (or maybe just a new interface box and
software).

I wonder if District 99's radio system will end up as "SAFE-T Site 1"
since it's in the right spot on the SAFE-T map. Site 15 is clearly
going to be built on district 52's system. Oh and don't get confused
between the Cell ID and the one on the SAFE-T map. They don't seem to
correspond at all.
