"Medic 1, you have a run to Parkview Noble for a
33Alpha2"
It's unusual that they use "Alpha" because most
departments in my neck of the woods would say "Adam."
---snip---
1. These may be determinant codes used by Priority Dispatch's (aka/formerly
Medical Priority Dispatch) version 11 Medical Dispatch Protocol. See
http://www.medicalpriority.com/Mprotocol.html. 33-Alpha-2 is a valid code
in this program, used for runs to places like clinics and nursing homes.
2. If this is what they're using, the definitive guide for the codes -
intended for use by field personnel
hearing them over the radio - is the Field Responders Guide, available at
http://www.medicalpriority.com/otherproducts.html for $10 each.
3. A few websites list this information as well, but I haven't found one in
a
concise format. Here are a couple to try:
http://www.co.contra-costa.ca.us/depart/hsd/Emerg%20Med%20Svcs/MTNspec142.PD
F
- start on page 27. This one includes the newest protocol, #33, but
doesn't list (nor does the little book described above) all the variants of
protocol 26. This site also has the information listed in computer-table
form, so disregard the extra zeros - for example, what they list as 01-A01
would be stated as ONE ALPHA ONE. The second letters used are (least to
most serious) OMEGA, ALPHA, BRAVO, CHARLIE, DELTA, ECHO.
http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/firecad/signals.asp also includes some extra
zeroes in the codes that may be disregarded - but it does list the protocol
26 ALPHA variants. This list seems to be from an older version of the
system, as the protocols only go up to #32, and don't include the newer ECHO
component. The "Other Signals" listed don't apply.
Some determinants have another letter at the end - but I haven't found a
site that lists these, either.
