That is precisely why this new PRO-96 is going to be facinating.  Did you
know that the DSP has user upgradable firmware?  You will be able to
download the firmware and install it.

What does this mean?

I think it is merely the beginning of what will soon be the way all new
upper end scanners are made.  Once people can start upgrading their
scanners, how long do you think it will be before they have the ability to
add protocols?

The demand for a ProVoice scanner may be low overall, but for those
scanner enthusiasts living in or near an area covered by one of these
systems, the demand will be high.

Anyway, time will tell.  It will be interesting to see which protocol is
the next to be decoded.  My money is on VSLEP.
