$12. Now that is a bargain for all the benefits a
ham license affords you. Of course the best
benefit is the right to carry on your person, off
your property, in your car, truck, van, or RV a
radio capable of receiving emergency
transmissions. The $12 is the best investment one
can make to become part of the growing family of
Amateur Radio! Consider the cost of court fees,
lawyer fees, lost time from work in a courtroom,
and fines for carrying a scanner off your
property.
Some emergency personal arguments against Amateur
Radio involvement in any emergency situation,(it
really has to do with money), go by the wayside
when a disaster strikes your community. Example:
during an out break of tornados in Central
Indiana several years ago all cell phone activity
was lost for several hours. Not Amateur Radio
communications. Some police communications were
lost for a short time. Not Amateur Radio
communications. When all emergency services were
over loaded with calls for help the Amateur Radio
Community responded and their response was
overwhelming, well coordinated, and professional.
$12 for a license. Not a bad deal. Come join us
and become part of the ever growing
"PROFESSIONAL" Amateur Radio Service! It is truly
more than a hobby......W9FPJ
