[ScanIndiana] Scanner Listners are Thugs

In dealing with some media, they do not "Always" quote the statements
made correctly, or quote a potion of the statement so that it loses it's
true meaning. In my area of Law Enforcement, the criminals do use
scanners, FRS, MURS, and good old CB. I have taken several of the radios
as evidence, and during debriefings, they have admitted to using the
radios in an effort to find out where we are, or what our plans are. They
also use radios to try to "out manuever" us. Now, as I have stated in the
past, I have no problem with the General Public sitting at home, or even
mobile (where it is legal) listening to most of the comms. A lot of
times, they are actually a great asset to LE, when we are trying to
locate something or someone, but the bad guys do it too. I guess it's
kind of like us, a lot of folks have heard about a bad cop, or known one,
so all cops are bad... Then again, where I am, and the area I have worked
for many years is much different than where most of you guys live.
