According to Linn Piper, The Head of MECA, at Public Safety meeting that
was one Channel 16 earlier this year, he stated that "MECA is still a
few years from going digital." The new radios are probably replacement
for the STX821's since they are having to canabalize the old non-working
ones just to get parts. The new radios that Wishard has may be capable
of both analog and digital, but they are probably being used in the
analog mode.
