a practice test:

Radio Shack usually carries the study guides.
Once your ready, find a testing site that's convenient for you here:
http://www.arrl.org/arrlvec/examsearch.phtml
A lot of Ham Radio Operators participate in voluntary things, but it's
strictly optional.

How can you get a HAM license? Is there any special class you have to take?
I know I took a severe storm class in March for the National Weather Service
in Indy. One more thing, is there anything you have to do when you get a HAM
license?
