Hello Dave. I did not make the story up in the
previous post. In Peru, Indiana the father of
N9WX was stopped for speeding. The radio was on
the passenger seat not turned on. The father was
given a ticket for having a "police type" radio
in the vehicle. The dad told the cop that the
radio was his sons but the cop did not care. The
son went to the police station to retrieve the
radio and was told: "too bad". The judge said the
same thing and his radio went to some one in the
judicial system. The judge said The dad owned the
car. The ham operator was not in the car at the
time. So this law is enforced as the judge in
each county interprets the law.  W9FPJ
