 For the America 250 event on the National Mall, a STA DMR trunked system is up and operating, and has been logged and verified. It is a MotoTRBO Capacity Plus system licensed as WSMX999, as an STA from June 8 to July 14, 2026.  It is run by Bearcom, similar to Inauguration and other large events in DC. The control point is listed as 800 Madison Dr NW DC, which is near the NGA Sculpture Garden at 7th and Constitution Ave, NW.  The antennas and transmitters are nearby.  They are licensed for 20 watts, FB6T and 7K60FXE, with 500 user radios.  There are 9 frequency pairs from 451/456 451.050 to 451.775 licensed, but only heard traffic on 7 of them (see below).  All channels heard are from 451.650 to 451.775 with color code of 5.
Below has been verified: Capacity Plus MotoTRBO with RAS and clear voice.  All channels use color code 5.    --Freq--  LCN451.7125  1

451.6500  8  (watch out for an unrelated system downtown on CC=13) 451.6625 - nothing heard possible LCN 6? 
451.0500 - nothing heard  - simplex? LCN 9?  Also check 456.0500 for simplex. Talkgroups heard are from 1 to 38.  TG 33 and 34 are the busiest.  TG 3, 12, and 22 are the next busiest. All could be easily heard at Judiciary Square, and barely heard at NoMa Metro stops, with a handheld scanner.  The system could NOT be heard at Farragut Square.  Using a better antenna and radio, and a good site will provide much better results. Anyone who hears the system, please post what you hear.  It would be nice if you include information on talkgroup use. It is likely the Smithsonian is using the 406-410 MHz NXDN trunked system ("DC Area Federal SMR"), since some of this event is really the annual American Folklife Festival, but this system is primarily encrypted. but worth listening to to see if anything is usable. You can run, but you can not hide. Freaky
