Thanks, Mike. I remember the Desert Storm flyover, which I watched from Constitution Av. But this one doesn't seem to be attached to a major event like that...or to any event, for that matter. Wonder what the reason is.

There have been quite a few.  The biggest being for the National Victory Celebration in honor of the conclusion of Desert Storm which had around 80 aircraft.  There have been much smaller formations over the years, some within the last 10 years.
