[Scan-DC] MCPD Radio Encryption Plans

This is extremely disheartening news. I was really hoping that MC would not
follow in the footsteps of jurisdictions like Anne Arundel. There should be
questions asked to the county council and the Chief of Police as to why the
change in posture now. It was probably inevitable, but it is (in my
opinion) completely unacceptable to use "there is a database updated 4
times a day" and MPIA requests. Neither of those are timely. We can cling
to hope that this decision is not final...but I'm sure we all knew deep in
our minds that this day was coming at some point.
