There is a pirate station that plays hip hop, funk, old school from the 70s
up to newer r&b on 1680. I picked it up in elk river and it's much clearer
in North Minneapolis. There are no call letters, no dj, no commercials,
just music. I downloaded the wprr app on my phone and it is definitely not
them. I used to pick up wprr last year but this new pirate station prevents
me from picking up wprr. Wprr would come in faintly, had commercials and a
dj. This new station is clear, and does not need my passive loop antenna.
The new pirate station started around the first of January, give or take a
few weeks.
