Wow,
I am now SO concerned about the rights of those individuals whose cell
phone emitting geolocation data EVERY day might have had their rights
infringed upon after killing a police officer, destruction of federal
property, and trying to topple the government. I believe that the police
can use Google resources to track a cell phone without a FISA warrant if
there is probable cause. Local police did this a few years ago when a woman
was carjacked and cops were able to track her phone as the perps were using
google maps at the time They were able to get cell tower data and track
the perps via geolocation and an eyewitness to the vehicle and save a life
and make two arrests.
The only time the senators need to be concerned about civil liberties being
abused is when the intel was there but poor judgement allowed a group of
extremists to almost commit mass murder. It works both ways.
