[Scan-DC] For GMRS repeater folks

*  I have two of the radios.  They are 8 watts input and the audio is
good.  The range is pretty good and handy if mobile accessing a local
repeater.  Although they do have some good points, but to me they are
similar to the bad old days of having to deal with MSDOS....the
documentation sucks and was a primitive process for me updating the
radio.  It was a hit or miss situation. There are different variations
of a supporting operating systems to select from the internet. "Cricket"
was an earlier one. **
**
** I still don't know what I did wrong with one of my radios. I was
trying to update a UHF frequency. Somehow I managed instead to delete
only the UHF section for transmitting.  I can receive the UHF
transmissions fine, I just can't transmit.  When I bought this on radio
on EBAY a few years there were 8-10 active users in my area.  Now the
average is one maybe every two months.  Given the choice, I would prefer
having my monies back.**
