[Scan-DC] 234.8 MHz SOF 121st FS?

Hi all,

Thanks for the info. Very helpful.

I monitored 234.8 for 24 hours, ending just a little while ago. I caught 22 hits. I don't really know what I'm hearing. All transmissions are very brief (2-5 words typical), and the people talk very fast, faster than any other comms I listen to. Some of the transmissions are quite strong, sounding local. Others are fairly weak and noisy, characteristic of distant airborne reception.

If I copied correctly, a few of today's transmissions referred to "wild one" (sometimes shortened to just "wild"). Does that ring a bell with anyone?

I did copy at least one transmission referring to "Senate" per the linked frequency list. ("Senate copy", "Senate wild one")

SIF stands for Supervisor of Flight. Usually squadron Officer of the Day who can handle any issues with the mission. The callsign used to Be Watergate or Senate but I haven't heard those calls in a couple of years.

Andy--Nice catch on 234.8.  It hasn't been used much lately. They seem to prefer the VHF freq 139.45 (AM)

I can help with the he last part. 121 FS means 121st Fighter Squadron. If you Google that it will take you to the DC Air National Guard webpage. They are based at Andrew’s Joint Base.
