Baltimore County Implements GeoComm GIS Software at 9-1-1 Center
Friday, August 09, 2019 | Comments
GeoComm announced its public-safety mapping software solutions are being
used in Baltimore County, Maryland’s 9-1-1 Center.
GeoComm recently partnered with Baltimore County and MicroAutomation for an
extensive public-safety improvement project using a wide range of GeoComm
public-safety geographic information system (GIS) software and services.
The software includes a web-based application that achieves automatic
plotting of emergency incidents. Another program will extend Baltimore
County’s public-safety GIS into the field when it is installed in more than
600 vehicles to provide in-vehicle mapping and navigation for police, fire
and EMS responders.
The Baltimore County 9-1-1 Center is one of the largest emergency call
centers in Maryland and answers an average of 2,200 9-1-1 calls per day. A
tour will be available during the 2019 Association of Public-Safety
Communications Officials (APCO) International conference and exhibition
next week.
