Emergency Services Department
*Electronics Technician*

As an Electronic Technician you will perform skilled work on radio
equipment, including testing and repairing portable, mobile and fixed
station radios and electronic equipment. Working at the journeyman level
with general supervision from a designated supervisor, candidate will
coordinate and make repairs on radio equipment and install electronic
equipment in emergency and government vehicles. The ideal candidate will
have experience in the radio and communication field, as well as
knowledge/understanding of two-way radio theory and communications systems.

Minimum requirements: Two-years of education from an accredited college,
and/or a certificate from a technical school; six months of related
experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid
Class C driver’s license and good driving record required. Basic knowledge
of electronic and mechanical testing equipment including battery backup
systems, base stations, repeaters, multi-couplers, duplexers, and basic
networking skills. FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License or
equivalent industry certification and experience with Harris or P25 is
highly desirable. Use of hand tools, programming computer software, IP
networking, hardware as well as contact and hot air soldering equipment
required. Employees of the Electronic Services Division will be subject to
recall and emergency after-hours response. Employee(s) will be available by
phone, text or email at all times, and while actively serving on-call
status be ready to answer questions and/or respond when necessary.

Salary range is $53,176-$69,133, with hiring rate determined based on
qualifications and experience. The Town also offers an excellent benefits
