Not sure why this went through my mind finding out about losing Doug but
here goes.
When I got into the hobby of listening it was the mid 80's and at some
point I had a real desire to listen to the USSS cause a acquaintance worked
for them as a agent. One day a guy I met on a BBS wanted to get together
and compare notes on their frequencies which back then were unencrypted and
analog. We met at the Toddle House on Rt. 1 next to Heathkit and this guy
was like nervous as he showed me hand written pages of frequencies labeled
"Baker" Charlie, and Juliet". Once he saw we both pretty much had the same
info he thanked me and scurried away LOL.
No big deal and nobody was breaking any laws back then but his apprehension
to share this "sensitive" info then published in a widely sold book called
"the Top SECRET Book of US government radio frequencies" that was as thick
as a small town phone book and very detailed made me laugh.
My friend Paul if still alive would be smiling as well.
Rest in Piece Doug and am sure the radios in Heaven have ALL the
frequencies you could listen to!
