Law Enforcement has ALWAYS wanted to encrypt their radio traffic so to control the narrative of incidents occurring in their respective jurisdictions. No one to blame but the ELECTED OFFICIALS from jurisdictions who ALLOW encryption to be used on dispatch or other channels where there isn't the need for the transmission to be encrypted. And yes, get used to the scripted PIO public information releases. Sad, but the days of the media profession actively monitoring and looking for a breaking story has for some reason faded away. These new media folks are for the most part okay in waiting on getting PIO release.
I finally know why we thank Lindsay!
It is what it is, there isn't a lot we can do about it. It is frustrating. I was able to avoid a bad accident on the rock Creek parkway earlier this year because I heard about it on the park police frequency.
DC in particular is getting to the point where the only thing you are allowed to know is what is scripted through the PIO.

Thanks Lindsay indeed!!! While I bet he continues to make even more money in database royalties since the release of the SDS100. Taking money from the community in one hand while using the other hand to kill the hobby... thanks Lindsay.
