Here is a first hand account of a traveler: I was on AA2283 mco to dca. It was 30 minutes delayed due to weather in Orlando. When we got closer to DCA we did a 180 degree turn and soon the Captain announced we were heading to Greensboro as Washington Center seemed to be closed and we would need fuel sooner than we could likely land. It is now 1015 pm we are leaving Greensboro.  Contingency plans seemed very awkward. I'm surprised there wasn't a way to keep us informed at Greensboro.  What did  everyone do with the 911 planning money and FEMA training.  I'm not saying we were in any danger but I thought we could have been better informed and why was there a single point of failure?  Bob Lee
