Greg, CB is still around more in some places than others. I have friends in
NC and TN that use CB quite a bit. I think most truckers still have a rig. I
have one on the shelf jus' because. I even have a ground plane antenna still
in the box with bunches of other radio equipment. I don't know if the PD
still monitor. REACT has pretty much gone to Amateur and / or GMRS.

I know this sounds odd coming from a licensed HAM radio op, and yes I know
personal radio services have basically gone over to GMRS/FRS UHF frequencies
but am wondering other than truckers if any DMV locals still talk to each
other on the old CB channels.
Maybe cell phones have just wiped out that idea of casual chit-chat over the
air. Shame really as we use to have some great rag chews from Alexandria all
the way to Andrews AFB on CB in the 1970's. feeling like a dinosaur
again...:)
