Well it all started a few weeks ago. Not hearing much at all anymore on Prince William except analog fire and rescue dispatch and Manassas City PD and Manassas Park PD. I have four scanners and they all went silent including one Phase 2. Apparently Radio Reference still has nothing updated in their data base. Sometimes things kind of suddenly will sound normal on Fire/EMS and Prince William Co PD and the can be heard on the P25 then after a few hours or maybe minutes completely silent again. Three of my four scanners are non phase 2 and even though I have the Phase 2 frequencies programmed on the non phase 2 I do hear the traffic on them anyway on those non Phase 2 frequencies when that sudden traffic is heard.   My only phase 2 scanner (BCD436 HP) again appears to work only at times then silent again but the other non phase 2 have the same intermittent traffic anyway also.  I found a brief discussion about it on Radio Reference concerning PW County is in the process of rebanding and reception issues and some are saying they are not really phase 2 yet saying TDMA vs something but it's not clear.  I thought I would ask if you had any knowledge about the issue because it is very confusing what's going on there.

Hey Alan question. 

I didn't see anything about this on your site but I've been monitoring Prince William County for a long time. Recently things have gone silent especially on the fire and rescue side. I notice they did upgrade to a Phase 2 system but I have a Phase 2 scanner and carefully downloaded the Phase 2 programming on my BCD436HP but I still don't hear anything on those channels despite hearing plenty of traffic when using the scanner apps available for my phone.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
