​UPPER MARLBORO, MD – In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Prince George’s County Office of Homeland Security/Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce the National Capital Region’s (NCR’s) 4th Annual Community Emergency Response Team Conference.  This conference, known as CERTCon, will be hosted by Prince George’s County CERT and will provide two-days of lectures, panel discussions, demonstrations, networking sessions and a Preparedness Expo. 

 
CERTcon is designed to build up emergency preparedness competency within our neighborhoods.  This year’s conference honors the life and legacy of former Prince George’s County Executive, Wayne K. Curry, who passed away in July of 2014.  Mr. Curry was a champion for emergency preparedness and believed that a well-prepared community is a safer community.
