[Scan-DC] memory cards and various cells at the Walgreens

I also discovered that you can take the microSD card out of the Home Patrol and do all the updating (even firmware updates) by plugging the chip directly into your PC, rather than connecting the HP by USB cable. In the case of the firmware update, you simply plug the chip back into your HP after the new firmware files have been loaded on the chip, turn the HP on, and it completes the update. I had to do this recently because when I plugged the HP into my PC via USB cable, the PC wouldn't see it. I'm still not sure why, but I'm glad I could do everything just by plugging the chip directly into my PC.

For anyone with a PSR-800 or other scanner with a micro SD, programming
using the SD slot on the PC is much faster then using the USB. Did I say
it was MUCH faster? It is.

Happy Friday the 13th.
Hurry and get your bread, milk and TP before the stores sell out.

For the month of December, Walgreens has San Disk 8GB micro SDHC cards, including the adapter, for $6.99. I've seen those microcards sold without adapters, so having that included isn't so bad. I'm not saying this is the best deal ever, but the usual price at Walgreens is $29.99. You should see what Rite Aid and CVS charge for those things. At least Walgreens puts them on sale.

Also, Walgreens has multiple-packs of Walgreens brand cells in AA and AAA (16 per pack), 9 volt (4 per pack), and C and D (8 per pack) sizes priced at two packs for $10 through tomorrow. I don't know how good the Walgreens brand cells are, but again, you should see how much CVS wants for just one Duracell 9-volt battery. My RCA VoltOhmyst uses three 9-volt batteries at a time, so some of those would be nice to have.

The Alexandria store is two small to have the 8-packs of D cells. The Clarendon store is out of them. I might get a raincheck.

The usual disclaimers.
