Hi Alan, according to an acquaintance who has built a similar device that
lifts 40 pounds (!) - The control frequencies can be on 72 MHz, however a
lot of them are controlled and send their video on the 802.11 WiFi
frequencies in the 2.4 GHz band. If you have an iPad/iPhone or an Android
box I can recommend an app that scans the 2.4 GHz spectrum and shows you a
waterfall display.

Subject: [Scan-DC] Drone used to shoot Post Office ad in Takoma Park

For much of the day on Tuesday, Takoma Park police were busy on the
department's "ops" channel directing traffic in old town.

After hearing several references to a helicopter, it got the best of me and
I had to check it out.

Note the camera dangling beneath the drone.

The crew had UHF radios but I never saw them used. I had no hits on my
CLOSE-CALL from the crew or the drone.

What freqs do these drones use?

It looked like a holiday ad as the crew put Christmas decorations on the
buildings.

An older gentleman sitting on the bench smoking a cigarette asked: Why does
the Post Office need to advertise? Do they have competition? The PO seems
to always be the cheapest even for packages and they often deliver for the
other carriers.
