Track maintenance most likely. If you are ever fanning, and you see a guy with a W sign, it means they are required to sound their horns.

I live out in western Mont. Co along the Barnesville grade.

Yesterday afternoon, around 3pm or so I heard a train coming southbound out  
of Dickerson sounding its horn every 5 seconds for in excess of 10 minutes.

What would the reason for that be?
