[Scan-DC] BACKPACKS

Reminds me of a story... years ago went with the then-girlfriend, who was a convention planner, to Toronto over Labor Day weekend.  It was an expense-paid thing for her and a guest, compliments of the convention and tourism bureau there, to wine and dine meeting planners, they even paid for the plane tickets on Allegheny.  Lots of non-stop activities, tours, cocktail hours, big dinners in hotels, receptions, champagne brunch on a river cruise, a whole bunch of dressy stuff, so we both had a lot of clothes / luggage.  There was alcohol at every function so we were more or less under the influence the whole time.

Coming home through customs back into the US, I had a large suitcase, a hangup bag, and probably something else, a tote bag or something.

Guy says, "What's in the bags?"
Me (surprised; what did he think was in them?):  "Dirty clothes."  (Maybe a little in the tone of "What the hell do you think is in them?", because that was exactly what I thought - but I wasn't disrespectful or anything like that.)

He gets all bent out of shape, I can't remember what was said, _plus_, the girlfriend is going at me in the other ear - WTF?  To this day, I can't think of a better answer and I have no idea what either one of them was expecting!

Sheesh...

Regards,

Doug
