Has anybody picked any transmissions from faraway lately? There was a good example mentioned over at DCRTV.com. A humid, 67-degree day in DC ought to wake up the troposphere.

"I've never gotten Colorado FM stations from here, but then I don't monitor FM as much as AM. Although no cigar, still close. One evening in the summer of 1986 a strong T-storm front passed right over the D.C. area and for hours I was picking up FM's from all over South Dakota/Minnesota/Iowa, including 91.1--the freq next door to WETA. Nowadays the %#@! IBOC hash from WETA would drown that one out. KOF (1/29/13)

There is a 101.7 The Wolf. But it's in Boulder, CO! Are you sure that's what's you got? Besides, the station's format is not rock, it's New Country. KOF (1/29/13)

Dave's response: There is a spring-like weather front dangling over the Midwest today. It wouldn't surprise me to get a few minutes of a tropo duct allowing a Colorado FMer to be heard in these parts. In the past, I've heard FMers from Texas around here during such atmospheric "openings"....."
