Washington Gas had baffled me for years too. Apparently the 10-channel 900
MHz trunk was "over designed" by hams who work for Washington Gas. Most of
the company's communication is via cell phone and mobile computer. I
noticed a big loss in radio traffic when the crews were installed with
mobile computers. They kept the radio for back-up, I assume.
Remember when Washington Gas used 48.5 MHz? That was the second IF for the
Pro-200x series. Heard them all over low band as a result.
