Alan,
Oh yes, I'm going to have all the e-mails from Capt. Carpenter on
hand. I have a label set up in Gmail, so I'll be able to pull them up
easily. Here are the e-mails from 2010 and 2009.
Dave

E-mail to me from Capt. Carpenter (2010):
Mr Schoenberger,
Yes, the policy is the same this year.
Enjoy the show!

Subject: Re: Radio scanners at JSOH?
Capt. Carpenter:
Thank you for answering my question about radio scanners for last
year's JSOH (see relevant message below). Is the policy the same this
year (i.e. scanners permitted)?
Thank you.

E-mail to me from Capt. Carpenter (2009):
Dave,
I saw SrA Polvino's answer to your question, and as my husband is a
scanner enthusiast, I wanted to follow up to make sure we gave you the
best answer. According to the Security Forces Squadron Commander, Lt.
Col. Lambert, you are fine to bring in the scanners. It is not on the
approved items list on our website, www.jsoh.org, but it is not on the
prohibited items either. If any of the security folks checking bags
before you get on the shuttle from Fed Ex Field or Branch Ave metro
give you any trouble about the scanners, you can have them call their
boss. Please keep in mind our other restrictions and other than that,
have a great time at the show.
Thanks,
Capt. Anna Carpenter

E-mail to Mike Peyton from Capt. Carpenter (2009):
Mike,
I clarified this with Mr. Schoenberger yesterday and hopefully he will
get the word out to the community. There is no restriction on these
devices being brought to the air show. The JSOH website lists the
restricted items correctly. Please give me a call if you have any
other questions.
Thanks,
Capt. Anna Carpenter
