[Scan-DC] Other alternatives - RE: Programming Cable for 296D

Based on the directions to physically chop off the USB connector and replace with a serial connector, this is not the same thing as using a USB to serial adapter. The former is purely mechanical, the latter actually involves translating the USB protocol to the serial protocol. Bottom line is I don't think using a USB-to-serial adapter would work. Instead, you must do the mechanical replacement of the USB connector with a serial connector.
