I know there was some discussion on here recently about Washington Co, MD upgrading to 800 mhz, so I found this to be interesting as well about their 911 call center:
Maryland County Upgrades 9-1-1 Software with PlantCML (10/12/10)
The Washington County (Md.) Department of Emergency Services (DES) upgraded the 9-1-1 equipment in its emergency call center with a next-generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) call processing and mapping solution from PlantCML, an EADS North America company.
“The consolidation of the county’s emergency call centers into the current DES 9-1-1 emergency communication center increased the need for a new emergency call-processing solution that could handle the nearly 25,000 emergency and administrative calls we receive on a monthly basis,” said Bardona Woods, director, emergency communication center, Washington County DES.
The Washington County DES has 17 call-taking positions equipped to receive calls from a population of about 145,000 citizens. Washington County comprises 458 square miles and is located in the western part of Maryland.
