That's very interesting...I always heard it was a NIKE site....There must have been some type of underground facility, their are air ducts randomly out in the woods. 


So what was the purpose of the concrete silo?

Actually, the cylindrical concrete tower on Lambs Knoll was never a Nike 
site. It was a classified White House emergency communications facility 
code-named CORKSCREW, which provided links to Camp David, Site R and Mount 
Weather. It has a sister facility (also now used by the FAA)in Fort Reno 
park, in the Tenleytown neighborhood of NW DC. 

I have heard the facility identified as a missile site before, and believe 
this may have been a cover story propagated to local residents.
