[Scan-DC] Montgomery Box 28-1, Plane Down Mtgy County Airpark

The AWOS frequency transmits a short, looped recording of weather conditions and other pertinent information about the field. The recording can be amended immediately in case of emergency if needed. The UNICOM frequency is monitored by arriving and departing aircraft, and by a person employed by the FBO (Fixed Base Operator - the people who sell the gas and provide other services.) Pilots self announce their positions and intentions, and can request info from the UNICOM operator if necessary. The FBO is not acting as ATC, but they might advise aircraft of the active runway, etc. upon request. When the FBO is closed, the frequency acts as a CTAF frequency, which is essentially the same as UNICOM, but without the FBO presence. If the runway is closed and the FBO is open, then landing traffic would be advised that the airport was closed. The UNICOM does not have a recording - only the AWOS is a recording. Hope this helps.

Plane described as 6-psgr single engine. No fly zone/do not land in effect, but I'm not sure how they do this, as this is an uncontrolled airport.
