[Scan-DC] Montgomery Box 28-1, Plane Down Mtgy County Airpark

Thanks, Charley, sharing with the list... I wonder how quickly they can get the word out... isn't there some kind of recording on the Unicom?  Airport manager was there with the fire dept command and it sounded from the radio comms I heard that he was pretty efficient about contacting FAA...

*****

For those not familiar, I googled AWOS and it's aviation weather station... I was familiar with the other acronyms.

Afterthought, heck, I never thought to listen to the unicom channel... have it in the radio but I keep it locked out because of all the routine stuff... so I missed that!  Am a bit under the weather at the moment and don't feel like trying to figure out where in the radio the Unicom channel is...

Update on the incident, I think the fire dept (hazmat) is offloading fuel from the downed plane.

And I did hear Incident Command say that airport mgt would have the responsibility of notifying FAA when the airport was usable again.

Plane described as 6-psgr single engine. No fly zone/do not land in effect, but I'm not sure how they do this, as this is an uncontrolled airport.
