Amtrak train bound for Richmond breaks down for at least 6 hours 

RICHMOND, VA - An Amtrak train bound for Richmond broke down today just
outside Alexandria, stranding 111 passengers for hours on dark, cold
cars. 

Train 195, which was due to arrive at the Staples Mill Road station at 5
p.m., lost power at 3:45 p.m. because of a mechanical problem with the
locomotive, said Amtrak spokeswoman Karina Romero. The passengers were
without heat and lights until 8:14 p.m.
