[Scan-DC] Fire Hydrants and Other Off Topic Messages

I'd like to throw one thought in here for everyone to consider, because I've
seen it mentioned 2 or 3 times in the past week. Something to the effect of
"These are all alerts we get anyways, why post it here?"
My point is, I'm not subscribed to all these alerts, sales notices and the
like, Scan-Dc serves as my go to e-mail list when it comes to information of
that nature.
Personally, it takes an extra 10 seconds to look at a subject line, decide
if you want to read what is enclosed, and move on to the next e-mail about
cheap Viagra and enlarging your physical endowments, or the latest chain
e-mail/joke forwarded by a friend.
The convenience of having much of this information show up at your
fingertips via a personal computer or smartphone far outweighs the minor
headache of deleting a dozen e-mail messages you don't care about.
