[Scan-DC] Interesting Medflight call Friday night

Don't know. I only heard the action starting with the helicopter calling the
landing zone asking to be filled in on the nature of the call. It sounded
like resuce had to go in after him, so he didn't hobble out. I suspect his
old lady called police when he didn't return home. Out here, the folks seem
to have their favorite hunting spots, so one of his buddies probably let
rescue know where he hangs out, and they went in looking for him. But I'm
only speculating. It may end up in the local paper, which comes out once a
week on Fridays. If there's any more info I'll send an update!

With regard to cell coverage, our house is deep in the woods, actually
inside the George Washington National Forest. Believe it or not, we now have
full-strength 3G coverage! Within the last 30 days, AT&T apparently added 3G
coverage out here in the middle of nowhere. Impressive.

Scanner listening out here is always interesting, especially in the spring
and summer when there are a lot of incidents involving scraping up motorcyle
victims off the pavement.

How did he call for help? Was he within cellphone coverage, or did he
have to hobble back to his truck?
